SHORT SYNOPSIS SYNOPSIS
SHE, A CHINESE (Ella, a young china) tells the story of Mei, a Chinese girl who decides leave their monotonous life in a village by the bustle of Chongqing, the nearest town.

It makes us feel alive and can move forward into the future.

The genesis of SHE, A CHINESE took place the day that Tessa Ross of Film 4, saw The Concrete Revolution, Guo Xiaolu documentary made in 2004 to his graduation from the School Movies. Aware that the director was also a writer, Tessa Ross signed a contract with her to write a film script. Xiaolu Guo developed the script at the Sundance Lab. In 2006, the Producer Natasha Dack, of Tigerlily Films, joined the project, and in 2007 began to seek financing Cinemart and IFP No Borders.
